Join us for an evening of hors d’oeuvres, wine and beer while enjoying the silent and live auction all to benefit a good cause. If you are not an avid wine collector don’t worry this event is also for the casual wine connoisseur. We will have plenty of non-wine related items to appeal to that significant other who might not be as attracted to the wines. Don’t miss the fantastic wines, vacation getaways, fine art and collectibles up for bid.

Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Charity auctions are a great way to advertise your business. Eleventh Annual Wine Auction

Our Eleventh Annual Wine Auction took place Saturday, April 18th at Dankso’s LEED certified green building headquarters in West Grove , PA.
This was the first CPL wine auction to take place in the spring with an informal format, much to our guests’ delight. Each guest enjoyed selecting their own whimsical hand painted wine glass for use during the evening of wine tasting.
There was spirited competition for the 130 silent auction items while guests enjoyed hor d’oeuvres which Bixby’s Caterer’s created especially for this event.
There were wines and beer to sample from our vendors including: Hockessin Wine and Spirits, The Wine and Spirits Company of Greenville , Twin Brook Winery, Paradocx Vineyard and Twin Lakes Brewing Company. Everyone enjoyed the floor to ceiling windows, spring-like conditions and ambiance with the delightful music of the Shaw Strings string quartet. David Yearsley our auctioneer did a fantastic job motivating bidders for the live auction while Honorary Chairperson Rick Reeves of Hockessin Wine and Spirits commentated on the live lots and provided informational wine commentary.
The live auction included collectible wines, coveted autographed sports memorabilia, vacation packages and more. . It was a casually elegant evening to raise money for CPL. The wine auction is the largest fundraising event for 2009 and raised over $90,000. Even in this economy, our donors came out and helped us by supporting this event so we can make a difference in the lives of our recipients.
