Friends of Canine Partners For Life
Jayme has embarked on a journey to complete Ironman Wisconsin
this coming September. This race -2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles
of biking, followed by a marathon - is
arguably one of the most grueling single day events
in the world.
From her website: "It will be a long process, but also
one that will be full of discovery and new
experiences.
During the training process, will be raising money for Canine Partners
for Life, a local organization that
trains and places assistance dogs with individuals
with mobility impairments. These amazing
dogs include service dogs, seizure alert dogs, home
companions, and residential (community) companions.
The dedicated work of the CPL staff and volunteers
opens doors of experience and personal freedom for
the recipients."
"I am honored to be raising money for
such an amazing organization in memory of
my mother, Constance W. Murray, who enjoyed years
of volunteering with CPL alongside her family. The
IM Able Charitable Endeavors website (www.im-able.com) includes
an overview of the efforts, as well as news and stories
of my training. It is a wonderful place to learn
more about CPL and the process of preparing for an
Ironman.
I hope that you can take some time to visit the website and, possibly,
donate to the good works of Canine Partners
for Life."

MILE RIDE ON A VESPA SCOOTER RAISES MONEY AND AWARENESS FOR THE
DISABLED
This journey on a tiny Vespa Scooter
began in Miami , Florida and ended in NYC!. Mark Bobotek, also
known as Bobo, was on a quest to travel all across the nation
entirely by scooter in order to promote and raise money for CPL.
Bobo traveled through all kinds of weather, across most of the
states, all to get donations and get the word out about what
we do. The whirlwind scooter ride brought in over $3,700 in donations!
Check out his travel log at http://bobovespa.blogspot.com/
Why would he do such a thing? Mark
Bobotek, 47, an estate attorney in Maryland, has a personal interest
in supporting CPL because his two 15-year-old nephews have cerebral
palsy and both have CPL service dogs. These dogs have greatly
impacted the quality of these boys’ lives and he wanted
a way to give back to the organization. Thanks Bobo!
