Canine Carnival

The 4th Annual Canine Carnival was a Howling Success!
Hundreds of local residents and their
dogs enjoyed our canine-friendly activities,
demonstrations and our dog themed
vendors. More than 350 supporters
came out to join in the fun and support
CPL at the same time. The event raised
over $5,500 for our program and helped
raise awareness of our service dogs
and what wonderful skills they perform
for their partners.
Kids and adults
alike played games for fun
and the enjoyment of the spectators as they
dressed their dogs in people
clothes and then had to run a relay race,
some played “Snoopy
says” a
take off on the favorite game Simon
Says and others. The crowd went wild
while watching the doggie wet tee
shirt contest and cheered on the
participants.
CPL was fortunate
to have on hand Dr.
Jeffery Bowersox who performed CERF evaluation eye
exams for the dogs
who were signed up and other dogs were enrolled in TDI
and CGC tests which are standards for beginning
therapy dogs to aspire
to. There were two service dog demonstrations to
showcase the skills
of one of our service dogs, Churchill and his recipient
Susan, there was a K-9 Unit demonstration by
the PA State Police
and an agility course demonstration.
Many of our recipients
and puppy
homes were on hand either volunteering or answering questions
about the
program. The most popular destinations were the puppy
kissing booth and the Wheel of “Fur”tune.
We could not have done this without
our
very generous sponsors: Windcrest Animal
Hospital was our Paw Print Sponsor, Chadds Ford Animal
Hospital, M.L.F. Office Service, The Perfect Impression
and Selas Fluid Processing Corporation were our Game
Sponsors, Tom
and Sally McLaughlin, Gail Walsh, and Mitchell
Holin were our Tail Wagger Sponsors, and our snack sponsors
were
Kunzler $& Company,
Herr
Foods, Inc, the Ramsey Family, Stroehamann Pennsylvania
Dutch Bakers, Starbucks Coffee Company (Jennersville)
and
Turkey Hill Dairy.
It was an overall great day for everyone!
Thanks for everyone’s
support!
